We were sitting in the Flying J parking lot in Post Falls, ID the other night when something struck me as odd. It took me a minute to figure out what it was. The whole parking lot was packed, we actually circled the lot and came back to the fuel island. Jeff sat there while I ran in to the bathroom and grabbed a pack of cigarettes and a cup of coffee. We figured we would ride down the road since there was no parking. As I am coming out he spots someone leaving, so he takes off for the spot. We are sitting there without the truck running, of course - we are owner operators - messing around on the computer. And it dawns on me what was odd. There was a whole truckstop full of trucks and it was silent! There were maybe 1 or 2 trucks idling. We could actually hear people talking 5 or 6 trucks down. I think we might have woke up the Werner driver next to us with our talking as both of windows and his were open. Now granted it was the ideal day and night to shut the truck off, but you know how it is. There are always drivers that never ever shut the truck off. So the combination of a comfortably cool evening and the price of fuel made for a very eerie sound in the truckstop that day - The Sounds Of Silence!!

well this is something new for me. Im trying to become computer savvy, not much luck yet! Were off to NJ from Seattle I've got on a container has to be there Tuesday , but its gonna be a day late because i ran out of hrs. I know what the Question is going to be Tuesday, could'nt you have done something. The answer, I did do something I took a 34 hr break. With the law's like they are now, and a lawyer waiting to hang you at every turn in the road, not to mention the added fuel cost's ,I simply refuse to run illegal. I am leased to CRST MALONE the problem will not be with them, It will be with the broker i got the load from. This load pay's 1.54 pm but i will try to find a ltl in Chicago to go with it . I will check in on this blog daily and try to add to it y'all have fun and truck-em safe!
